Infant, Toddler & Preschooler Classes
These hour-long parent-child classes meet once a week for 8 weeks. Through a combination of instruction, song and play, participants will learn age-appropriate ASL signs (e.g., "eat," "more," "please"), as well as valuable SIGN with your BABYTM methods of teaching them to young children.
Parent Workshops
These 3-hour parent-only workshops are designed as stand-alone tutorials.
Parents will learn the benefits of signing generally and of using the SIGN with your BABYTM
program specifically. They will learn basic baby-themed ASL signs and handy ways of
teaching them to children. Finally, they will have the opportunity to preview the SWYBTM
video and to purchase SWYBTM educational products at a discount.
Student Classes
These 1 ½-hour student-only classes meet once a week for 6 weeks.
Through a combination of instruction, games and role-playing, students will learn the
rudiments of ASL. They will learn the manual alphabet, numbers, conversational vocabulary
and basic ASL grammar. They will also begin to learn about Deaf culture.
Adult Classes
These 1 ½-hour adult-only classes meet once a week for 6 weeks.
Through a combination of instruction, games and role-playing, students will learn the
rudiments of ASL. They will learn the manual alphabet, numbers, conversational vocabulary
and basic ASL grammar. They will also begin to learn about Deaf culture.
Teacher In-Services
These teacher workshops are designed as stand-alone tutorials.
Participants will learn the basics of using ASL signs in their classrooms.
They will also learn vocabulary appropriate to the age groups they supervise.
